About Us
UEL Dance Society was founded by Alex Roberts and Alice Walker in May 2012 and started out with only 4 members! (We now have 110+).
Recently the Dance Society was awarded Best Society at the UELSU awards and also granted Gold Society Status.
Our Mission statement:
'We aim to create professional workshops that are available to students and local communities. We want to educate others of different dance styles by using local choreographers and dancers to pass on their knowledge of working in the dance industry.'
The dance society have been involved in many projects and performed at many exciting venues including:

Stratford Circus
X Factor Auditions
Hall for Cornwall
Queen Elizabeth II 60th Coronation Festival gala in Buckingham Palace
The dance society is currently working in partnership with 4 Funx Sake, promoting 'Community dance at it's best' Watch this space for exciting projects coming up.

The Dance Society runs Dance Workshops every Wednesday (during term) at UEL Sports Dock Dance studio, 2:00pm - 3:00pm.
These workshops vary in style from week to week, some of the workshops we have had in the past include, Contemporary, Breaking, Waacking, Krump and many many more.
Each week the workshops are taught by different practitioners who specialize in the style.
Some of our past practitioners include Simon Lee from Soul Mavericks, Kloe Dean from Boy Blue and Dasha Kostskina from Plague.
